This film presents the first North York Moors Chamber Music Festival, launched in August 2009, founded and directed by ’cellist Jamie Walton. Each concert began with Bach and expanded to other great works of chamber music from Mozart to Messiaen, including masterpieces from both the Classical and Romantic periods. It captures highlights from the eight concerts given over a two week festival during which time the moors are covered in heather and we are witness to one of the most outstanding areas of beauty in the country.

Fortunate with the weather we were able to film numerous landscape scenes not only of the moors and the sea but also the unique churches and priories where the concerts took place. These are interwoven with the music to vividly portray the essence and spirit of the festival upon this magnificent national park.
